80,000 Google Nexus Ones sold in first month?
Posted by Jerome on February 7, 2010

While Google has not disclosed how many Nexus One smartphones it has sold to date, analytics group Flurry Inc. estimates that it may be no more than 80,000. In comparison, the Motorola DROID sold over 525,000 and the original Apple iPhone over 600,000 units in their debut months.

A number of factors probably contributed to the relatively low Nexus One sales figures. First up, it had a significantly smaller advertising campaign focused exclusively online using Google AdSense and the Google home page. Unlike the other two, it has only been available online and only from Google. I'm sure that the T-Mobile 3G issues did not help either.

Did Google stumble or is this all part of 'the master plan'?
