HTCHTC not afraid of Apple iPhone 3G

Peter Chou, the CEO of HTC, does not appear to be too worried by the new Apple iPhone 3G and its new pricing strategy. Chou remarked that with the subsidies offered by mobile carriers, HTC Touch handset prices often fall below that of the iPhone. For example, he pointed out that Orange is offering the HTC Touch for free on some contracts. But he did omit to say that the HTC Touch is not a 3G device.

Chou went on to say that he welcomed the competition from Apple and that HTC would continue to roll out a complete lineup of products in cooperation with various mobile operators.

Last month, Chou said that he expected HTC to sell up to three million HTC Touch Diamonds this year alone.
