Ubergizmo is reporting that i-mate is working on a device companion very similar to the recently canceled Palm Foleo. This device would be no more than a shell and work like a docking station that would add a 1024x768 display (7-inch perhaps), a larger keyboard and a battery. The shell would turn any i-mate Ultimate into a more full featured PDA and provide up to 80 hours of battery life.
The price for such a shell is expected to be around USD$300.
