Chinese-language Commercial Times is reporting that O2 is looking to reduce and potentially completely withdraw from the Asia-Pacific market. O2 does not operate its own network in that area but sells O2-branded devices. O2 has apparently canceled orders with Quanta, Gigabyte Communications and Arima Communications as it sales came in lower than it had projected.
O2 responded to the report indicating that it has no plans to withdraw from the Asia Pacific market but that is reviewing its product strategy.
